Looking back on summer 2008, Rob from Heptown Records and I had the idea of making a solo album of the music I had been playing on our road trips together the last few years. Rob and his great gang of volunteers, them selling Hot Rod magazines, blue jeans, t–shirts and music, we call it the “Heptown lifestyle”, and me playing the music. And we were selling my albums on these trips, meeting folks that loved the true country sound. We always had a place to stay and a warm beer to drink.

When possible we brought along my band, J.Tex & the Volunteers, but much too often the costs ran too high, so going solo or as a duo proved to be an inexpensive way of getting out there meeting folks, playing the songs and having great fun.

By 2008 J.Tex & the Volunteers had already made two albums with Heptown Records. This time we wanted to catch that special summer night feeling we had experienced, a feeling that includes music, dust, old-time cars and a great crowd. And to make it just right, we found the greatest little studio located in an old schoolhouse near Lund, Sweden. The studio is now known as “House on the Hill” with Carl Granberg as the man in charge.

These twelve songs were recorded in three days. I asked my best and oldest buddy, Frank Borg, bass/banjo player and singer-songwriter, to cross the sea that third and final day and join in on this album. Andi Almqvist, a Swedish singer-songwriter from Malmö and also a dear friend, came by, making the song "Union Army" sparkle with his voice and musical talent. To make the day just perfect, Svante Sjöblom joined the party and was thrown in on “One of these days”. All in all, this album was made in the true family & good friends way. I hope you will enjoy this album. And that not only this album, but all music you may listen to, will shine on you and make every day a better day.

3 JACKS HIGH takes off where TOO HOT 2 HANDLE left off. 14 originals of hard-edged, twangy rock 'n' roll. With the sound of juvenile delinquents hepped up on hormones, drenched in pomade and sporting sideburns as sharp as Tijuana switchblades THE BUCKSHOTS makes their stand. But that's not all!

For the uninitiated, 3 JACKS HIGH serves as the perfect rockabilly primer that kicks off with MY BABY DRIVES ME CRAZY, a wild rocker that surely will make people drive off the road. And then there’s no slowing down. A FINE TUNED LOVE MACHINE lets Jerry Lee Lewis impersonator Thommy Borssén roll the keys like the mad man he is. BAD BAD BOY shows the red thread with its tongue-in-cheek lyrics and steady groove – a sure hit. And then the lovely boogie stomper HONEY BEE that would have made even Elvis jealous in his heydays. Gangsta swing meets the blues in DUANES BLUES. Don’t miss the kick ass trumpet by Ulrik Hog-lund. HAIL TO MR FORD is a true anthem to all Chevrolet owners and then we go nuts to THE JOINT IS JUMPING WILD with it’s fine mix of hard boogie and New Orleans brass. DEVILS PLAN takes on the bands favorite issue – bad women, and then we go below with DOWN TO HELL – a dark track with a twang accom-panied by the steel hands of Gunnar Frick (Ray Davies band), just to thrown you back to Sun Studios and the year 1955 in SWEET MISERY. And I CAN TOUCH THE MOON shows that Jorgens songwriting skills is wide and sends a nice cajun feeling to the track line up. Then we swing-a-boogie to TRUE LOVE, a true dance floor raver, followed by DO THE BOOGIE flavored with some the orgasmic wailing on the guitar. The album is bookended with a lovely romantic duet between Jorgen and his wife Marie called I HOPE I’LL SEE YOU SOON backed up by the sweet saxophone of Torbjorn Stenson. Once again THE BUCKSHOTS shows that they can handle a wide variety of genres and make them their own!

Behind Astrolites there are no secrets; it's pure and honest rock 'n' roll. Astrolites live what they preach – out to their fingertips. Since their debut ''Hard Luck'' in 2007, they have toured widely in most parts of Europe. The music has been heard on soundtracks and a variety of compilations, most recently the acclaimed rockabilly tribute sampler “DANCING ON YOUR GRAVES” to the Hellacopters.

Astrolites have taken their influences from be-bop, swing, rockabilly, surf and punk. All the ingredients are mixed with the bands intense live prominence to their own style which they call “Hi-Speed rockabilly”. ''Play For Keeps'' prove their capacity to do so.

The trio has shared the stage with such International acts Caravans, Slim Jim Phantom, Darrel Higham, Devil Doll, Mad Sin, Go Getters, and felt the Baseballs on the pulse.

Astrolites was born in 2002 as Tom Wilson & Astrolites. Three years later set the current setting when the singer and guitarist Örjan Jonsson (Raging HELL BILLY'S, ALIEN COWBOYS) was joined by drummer Marku Kallunki (Raging HELL BILLY'S, ALIEN COWBOYS) and the legendary bas player Uno Eiving (BLACK OUT, JACK BAYMORE, GREEN Kryptonite, right now album debut with ''Radiation'').

Mean, bad-ass covers such as "Sapphire" by Big Danny Oliver to Scatman Crothers version of "Ghost riders in the sky" are blended into an explosive cocktail with their on material.

Nosey Joe & The Pool Kings are reaching to the roots of music and with Lil' Linn’s guest appearance on the duet "Knock Knock" they have already set their mark in history. This great mix of swing, rhythm & blues and rock & roll really takes us on a wild ride.

This band is packed with talent. Ubbe Rydeslätt, Nosey Joe's frontman, unsheats his talents as great singer and skilled writer. As former member of Snakepit Rebels he spent quite some time in the well-known "Abbey Road" studio. But that’s not all, guitar player Totte, played on The Go Getters’ debut record and bassist Mika is originally from Knock-Out Greg and the Blue Weather. The band is further backed by the infamous Johnny Blue Orchestra’s awesome brass section.

However brilliant the album is, Nosey Joe & The Pool Kings should absolutely be experienced live. This band totally overwhelms its audiences with a sound from the old times remade for the scene of today.
